Learn how to build web applications with Ruby on Rails

As part of the meeting each month, we will teach you how to build web applications one step at a time. We'll illustrate this using an agile approach iteratively building our application as we go. We will start out simple and add features over time much like you would in the real world. Each month we will focus on a new area of the application and framework so you'll always be learning.

What about St. Louis Ruby User Group?

The St. Louis Ruby User Group alternates between having web development (like Ruby on Rails) and non-web development Ruby material providing a variety of Ruby topics, however there is so much activity going on in the Rails world, that we wanted a dedicated monthly venue to present the hottest Rails topics more rapidly and allow for a linear monthly training workshop. The St. Louis Ruby User Group meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Many members will want to attend both groups to get the most Ruby coverage.

Free and open to anyone

Our meetings are free and open to anyone interested in learning more about Ruby on Rails or Ruby based web development frameworks. The group is run completely by volunteers and open to everyone. We welcome developers, designers, students, professionals, anyone wanting to learn more about the latest web development techniques and frameworks.

What should I bring?

You can bring your laptop if you would like to follow along with us as we build our application or you may wish to just sit and learn as we explain the technology. You may also bring food if you would like to eat during our meeting. We'll be looking into getting sponsors to donate food at future meetings.
